São Nicolau is huge in comparion to the small number of inhabitants and offers a great variety of hiking trails as well as little roads for mountai bikers.

Hiking tracks are numbered and there is a corresponding guide-book availabel, for the time being only in German language. Where hiking trails make use of periphery forest roads, those are marked accordingly.
