Outline of Tracks
|
This track through deserted hills leads to a
nice panorama of the pass between the valley of the Rª Brava and Calejão.
The former colonial agricultural extension facilities on the way give an impression of the
monolithic architecture and the irrelevance of Salazars government in other
peoples countries.
Starting point is the upper end of the Rua São João, where there is the central power station. [RSJOA1] (150 m) The track climbs uphill í to a power pole on a saddle. Entering the valley on a horizontal ê , later slightly descending path, we reach the point where to cross the valley [RSJOA2] and start to í climb a saddle west of Pico Torto [CALE01]. From far the view goes over to the former priest training centre and, closer by, the agricultural extension services Posto de Fomento Pecuário where í the way passes. From the little round square in front of the extension services, a little road leads first ê , later ç to a crossroad with the main street of Calejão. [CALE04] (285m)
