Staying where the urban action is, 50m from the green grocers market of the historical city center on the Plateau, sourrounded by many small restaurants, traditional and chinese shops, shoemakers, craftmens shops, 100m to TACV offices, 150 from the American Embassy, 200 from the central hospital, 250 from the central square, 300 from the central bank; taxis going everywhere. During daytime, the Plateau is the bussiest mile on the arquipelago, and at night ... as quiet as a remote village.

The cosy pension Praia Maria is located on the second and third floor of a typical traditional merchant house. A shop in the basement and spacy, high-ceiled rooms above. Guestrooms are well equipped with friendly modern furnishure, all with private shower / WC, phone, fridge and TV. Management, maintenance, services and eventual special demands of guests are under control of Dona Milucy, a professional manager and hr team.

The pictoresque market wakes up in the early morning, but guest are not bothered by the noise. Their windows do not look out on the street but to an internal court.
