small B&B guesthouse and restaurant
is located high up in the valley of Paúl,
one of the most beautiful green spots
in Cape Verde.
Hikers get to
know it when coming down from Cova de
Paúl over
track 101 (Cova de Paúl to Vila
das Pombas) to the end of a little
paved mountain road in Cabo da Ribeira.
The house is found just 100 m off the
hiking track in the middle of sub-tropical
gardens.
Cavoquinho offers
spanisch and cape verdean food and vegetarian
meals.

und José, a
young spanish couple, are happy
to organize a shuttle service to
fetch you from the ferry-boat in
Porto Novo and organize the transport
of luggage to their house
while you start your stay in Santo
Antão
with a half-day hike down from
the crater of Cova
de Paúl
to Cabo da Ribeira (2+ hours).
Rooms and the entire house are recently renovated,
with new equipment and a great view over
the valley.

For
breakfast and relaxing there is a shaded
penthouse.
Chã de
Manuel Santos is the
starting point of serveral of the
most beautiful hikes on the island
of Santo Antão, why
guests frequently prefer to stay
for half a week or a week. Local
guides for the more difficult trails
can be contracted.
There
are small shops near by, but supermarket,
bank, hospital and post-office are to
be reached by bush-taxi (ALUGUER) in
half an hours ride.
