Donation in Europe are administered by  Medico International, a non-governmental organization in international medical co-operation in Frankfurt. The organization underlies financial auditing by the German government.

The head of the social services department together with the major in charge are responsible for the utilization of donations. Reports are made available to the authors.

The call in our Hiking Guide on Santo Antão, not to give money to begging children, but to support social structures in their favour, has started to succeed.
