Three quarters of the island,

The highest of the mountains,
the Tope de Coroa is a silent volcano with litte but very

endemic vegetation, rare birds, and stunning vulcanic desert

infrastructure
in the Porto Novo District. The green valleys of Tarrafal
de Monte Trigo, Ribeira da Cruz, Martiene, Alto Mira und
Ribeira
das Patas, all of them far away from the better known
districts of Ribeira Grande and Porto Novo are next to
Porto Novo.
