Endless
white beaches run from the little town of Vila
do Maio to the north and invite you for strolling
around, bird watching and long walks in the warm
wind under a blue sky. Only on the urban beach,
some children
take their bath and fishermen repair their nets,
while here strandlife is reduced to your own presence
and the shadow of a view palmtrees.
Where
the town fades out into the open landscape, Gianni,
Annalisa , Mario and Ornella built some mediterranean
houses for themselves and their guests, just 300m
from the beach. Solemar is located under Montinho
do Lume, crowned by the Meteorological
Station and the tower of the airstrip. On the other
side of the road, closer to the sea, there is a
dependance, called Residência Inês.

kitchenett and shower / WC and a shady balcony or
terrace where to stay outdoors.
Who
comes to Maio for a few relaxing days is as well
cared for as guest planning to aquire some property
in order to spend more time on the island, relying
